Western Iowa Power Cooperative (WIPCO) offers Wind Energy through our primary power provider, Northwest Iowa Power Cooperative (NIPCO). NIPCO has a relationship with its primary power supplier, Basin Electric Power Cooperative, to support Green Energy production to their members.
Western Iowa Power Cooperative began offering the Prairie Winds Green Energy Program in 2002. This program allows our members to voluntarily contribute to developing alternate energy production facilities such as wind energy. Members are not purchasing this alternate power directly but participating in the development of the power.
Your fee for each block of 100 kilowatt hours is $0.20. If you are interested in participating in this program, please complete the information below and we will contact you. Members will be committed for a one-year term and then continue annually, allowing them to make changes in their commitment by the number of blocks or continuation of the program.
