Your Cooperative employees have been busy demonstrating what the Touchstone EnergyÒ brand means by showing customers that co-ops bring more to them than just electricity; they bring the Power of Human Connections, which is the tagline for Touchstone EnergyÒ.

Western Iowa Power Cooperative’s 34 employees have been showing that we care about our communities and promise to stand behind the core values of Touchstone EnergyÒ which are integrity, accountability, innovation and commitment to the communities we serve by taking the time to volunteer when a helping hand is needed.

One example of the commitment to community is the Volunteer Community Service Program
that Northwest Iowa Power Cooperative (NIPCO) initiated in 1998. This program was started to

recognize the volunteer efforts of REC employees. In the past year, 15 WIPCO employees participated in over 60 community service projects and had 1,346 hours of volunteer activity. Each employee reporting at least 25 hours of service received a Touchstone Energyâ garment. Since this program started in 1998, WIPCO employees have contributed 14,546 volunteer hours.

The Cooperative employees volunteered in a variety of community activities, including blood donation; Relay for Life; city council and other city government boards; hospital and church boards; volunteer firefighting; leadership of church, community and youth group boards; refereeing and coaching sports activities and working on community celebrations.
