Local participation in economic development is an important part of Western Iowa Power Cooperative's mission. We are committed to contributing and participating in economic development projects and we work closely with local development organizations, and the  Iowa Area Development Group.  The company and its general manager are members of the Crawford County Development Corporation. WIPCO has long been a strong partner for Crawford and Monona Counties, and will continue to be a valuable partner for the region.

WIPCO's role in the development of Schleswig's 42-acre industrial park and speculative building is a testament to our commitment to rural Iowa. The spec building was purchased by Bedrock Concrete Products from Odebolt. They will manufacture hog slats at this facility. The project will create 10 to 15 new jobs and increase the tax base for the city and county.
Onawa, Iowa has sites available for development also. The west side of Onawa continues to grow. It is already home to McDonalds, Dave's World, Blencoe State Bank and many other businesses.

Western Iowa Power Cooperative offers technical and financial assistance to businesses planning expansions or relocations.

For information about available sites and an overview of financial and technical assistance programs, please contact Jeff Bean at wipco@wipco.com or telephone him at 800-253-5189.
